“I wanted to give out a shout of praise for the battery pack I purchased over a year ago from you.”
“I use this battery in a small/medium backpack on a long travel, big hit mountain bike…Santa Cruz Nomad…with a Bafang BBSHD. The bike is used for serious mountain biking, not just some bike path. Using the battery in the pack instead of on the bike itself has worked out way better than I would have anticipated. It is not the burden I anticipated and keeps the bike lighter when it needs lifting on a rack, work stand, or a really nasty trail obstacle.
To be honest, I didn’t have a lot of high expectation for the battery or the Bafang mid-drive. Well, that’s history because the motor, the bike, and the battery have performed perfectly since April of last year. I’ve already serviced the motor once for routine gear/grease maintenance, and the battery has held charge perfectly. I use this bike almost every other day and sometimes two days in a row…our weather in winter and summer allows year round riding. I use a Luna advanced charger and usually charge only in the 80-90% level.
I’ll mention something else…I work at a bike shop part time as a mechanic in Abilene as I am retired from another career. Even as an employee, the factory Trek and Specialized emtb’s are too expensive in my book. This Bafang/MTB setup has worked way better than I would have ever believed.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’ve been really pleased with the performance and reliability of your battery pack. Your name probably isn’t one of the more well known ones in the ebike world, but I’m a fan for sure. Thank you.” — Thad Carey

“I was interested in a quality e MTB and came across Empowered cycles a web store in the Bay Area that had a lot of information on converting bikes with non conventional bottom brackets for the BBSHD kit.”
“I ended up getting a Lekkie conversion kit that makes a standard 68mm BBSHD fit into a shimano PF41 x 86/92mm BB. After getting the motor fitted I struggled to find a Battery pack that would fit in such a small frame.
I stumbled across your web site and found the perfect pack that suits the build perfectly.  All together I feel that I put together a very capable emtb. I’ve been able to do 20 mile high drain rides no problem with my 16amp 52volt battery.
Things that went well and not so well. I opted to use the brake shut off kit for hydraulic brakes. I used JB weld to place the switches and magnets. The cut offs are invaluable when shifting. I will hold the brake in just enough to cut the motor off when I’m down shifting. Up shifting does seem to be so much a problem just stop accelerating and shift. I really appreciate the brake shut offs.
I ended up installing the gear shifter and had some issues. It seemed the gear shifter would cut the motor out on bumpy terrain. I ultimately unplugged it never to look back.  As for riding a e MTB one of the best things is it opens up new terrain that you would never consider pedaling like grassy fields, lakes, horse trails etc..
Here in Florida MTB riding is mostly XC, a EMTB turns it into enduro riding.” —- Craig Gaffka
